It’s almost time for the first meeting of the Progressive Book Club 2014! If you don’t know what it’s about, complete guidelines can be found in the tabs up top or by clicking on this link.
Condensed Guidelines:
- Read a book.
- Write a post for said book.
- Schedule to publish article by 8:00 a.m. EST, Wednesday, January 15th.
- Add the PERMALINK of that post to the link list.
- Visit others on the day of discussion.

I am, too! Yes, I’m a little exhausted with the craft books…it feels like I’ve been cramming for finals a couple of years now. All I’ve read in the past decade or so has been non-fiction text type of books…and I needed a break from that. Chomp into some tasty fiction or tastier memoirs. Looking forward to it.
Hah! Whereas I need a nudge to keep reading non-fiction. There are so many yummy stories out there, and of course I *need* to keep up on what’s out for the kids!

No apologies necessary, Mark! I consider the holiday season to run from November 15th to January 15, by the time all is said and done and everybody’s recouped. I was just thinking about you the other day, as a matter of fact, as I was getting back to the “routine.” Wondering how it’s been down on the island. Hope you had a great holiday!
If I finish the one I’m reading, I’ll join the discussion. But I’m also writing right now, so probably won’t finish.
Alex, don’t sweat it. I totally understand the demands placed on our time, and figure this is more of a “free time” (ha!) club…if you’ve read a book and have an extra moment to discuss it, good, if not, that’s okay, too. Mike KNOWS writing mode! When I’m in that mode, I barely read much of anything, except on the comMODE. Groan. And the profile pic…I tell you, thank goodness for digital photography…only one in a thousand actually turns out decent. Thanks. 😉
Mike– debating how or what for this month. So keeping it iffy on participation. On a side note that has nothing to do with this post…. I looked at your profile picture and thought, “Huh, Mike has an earring. It looks good.” Turns out it was just an errant speck on my computer screen, but just so you know, you could totally pull off an earring. 😉
Haha! Actually, the funny thing is, I have a little mole on my left lobe, right where an earring would go. I thought that’s what you were talking about. But when screens gradually get dirty…I know the feeling. I saw a whole bunch of dirt on my face and cleaned my screen. Didn’t do a dang bit of good—liver spots. Get the Esoterica.
Of course I’d love for you to join the club, but understand time crunches, etc. You have great perspective on books…a real reviewer that people can trust! But whatever you can do…maybe next month. 🙂
