The Importance of Being Inigo

October 12, 2012

What’s in a name?  Everything. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” Sound familiar? Even … More The Importance of Being Inigo

30 Days and 30 Nights of Literary Abandon

October 11, 2012

Our Collective Uniqueness

October 10, 2012

Snowflake by Yellowcloud, Flickr Let your authorial voice resound. Back in May, Snigdha Nandipati, a cool and collected 14 year-old from San Diego, won the 85th Scripps National Spelling Bee with the word “guetapens.” Everybody raise your gel pens to her! But not your … More Guetapens, Not Gel Pens

Much has happened in the year-and-a-half since I posted on Treading Water (and then immediately withdrew it and put the blog on hiatus). A week after that first entry in … More Finding Peace to Pen in a World of Warcraft

Mike is a lover of words who squanders away his afternoons arranging them into sentences which, when combined, resemble fiction. He has written articles for Writer Unboxed and The Alzheimer's Reading Room, and as a caregiver for ten years, plans a novel on his experience. He lives in the Florida panhandle with his two dogs, Rameses and Buster, and spends his nights fighting a losing battle to reclaim his side of the bed.
